We have parking within the Glamping area but this is strictly limited to 1 car per accommodation, additional cars have to park at the main reception car park which is located about a 10 minute walk away. For the safety of all of our guests we don’t allow cars to drive within the glamping area but provide wheel barrows to help you get your stuff about from the glamping car park, the furthest accommodation is about 5 minutes’ walk from the car park. Cars must NOT drive onto the Meadow at any time
No this is not allowed, due to numerous issues with guests ignoring our speed limit of 15 mph, abandoning cars which block the lane and ignoring our rules on parking cars in the car park we have taken the decision to make the glamping area free of cars, primarily this is to ensure the safety of all our guests. Cars are only allowed as far as the glamping car park, we provide wheel barrows to help you shift your stuff to your accommodation. Both the Lodge and the Luxury Geodomes at Chestnut Hill your car park spaces are right by your accommodation. Check out the site map for the site layout.
No sorry there is currently no shop onsite, the nearest place to access shops is Bedale which is 5 miles away. At reception, we sell disposable BBQs, Logs, Firelighters, Matches and marshmallows.
There is no wifi for accommodations on The Meadow. Hill Farm & Chestnut Hill Accommodation have wifi access. In an emergency we have an area near our office area where wifi can be used by visitors.
No on the Meadow, we provide an off grid experience which means no electricity available in the Glamping Village, solar powered lighting is provided around the toilet/shower blocks. In the accommodation there is ambient lighting in the form of tea light lanterns for the evenings. Please note the grounds have no external lighting which is great for seeing the stars at night, but not so great for finding your way around in the dark! Head- torches, torches or battery powered lanterns are strongly recommended. Bringing a torch/lantern is advised!
Stays on Chestnut Hill and Hill Farm do have access to power within their accommodations.
No we don’t currently have any charging facilities for mobile phones or electronic cigarettes, we advise that you make suitable preparations for charging your mobile and electronic cigarettes whilst away by using a car charger or solar charger
Yes these can be purchased at the Reception during opening hours.
Sorry we do not have any security lockup boxes, please make sure that anything valuable is kept securely locked in your vehicle as we cannot accept any liability should something be stolen from you whilst onsite.
Yes we have wardens which are onsite most of time, to ensure guests are looked after and the rules of the site are obeyed. Admin/maintenance staff are also available Mon-Friday during the day.
We always ask that guests respect fellow guests that are staying on Camp and keep noise to a level whereby you are not causing a nuisance to others and after 10pm we operate a strict low noise level policy.
Yes we allow guests to bring their dogs with a maximum of 2 dogs per booking, your dog/s must be kept on a lead at all times whilst on Camp and you must pick up and dispose of any dog mess. There is an additional charge to bring your dog which can be added to your booking online.
From time to time we may put wood on the communal camp fire which guests can burn but this is not all of the time, if you wish to make use of the communal camp fire on your stay please either bring logs or purchase some logs to burn.
All accommodations with log burner stoves receive a complimentary bag of logs including firelighters and matches. Accommodations with gas heaters – Hobbit Pods, Romeo & Juliet Pod, Hobbit Hide, Unidomes and Lotus Bell Tent do not receive a bag of logs. Any additional logs can be pre purchased using our online booking system and be in your accommodation when you arrive or purchased at reception during opening hours.
No we do not supply wood for the fire pits, if you wish to use your fire pit you can either pre purchase them on your booking on additional extras or buy them at reception at arrival.

Yes all accommodation has its own BBQ and Fire Pit outside, guests need to supply bring their own charcoal alternatively they can purchase disposable BBQs and Logs at reception. Please note we do not sell charcoal.
Check in time is from 3pm you are more than welcome to arrive earlier and use the facilities onsite.
You must be out of your accommodation by 10:30am on the day of check out – Guests can stay on the Estate all day if they wish but must be out of the accommodation by 10:30am.
Reception opening hours are 10-5pm. All arrivals after 5pm will receive a with instructions to call the wardens number on the recepition door once they arrive and the wardens will check you in and take you across to your accommodation.
Bedale is 6 miles away and Ripon is just 7 miles away.
Yes, we have our own pub onsite seasonal opening times vary. There is also two good pubs serving great food ½ mile each side of the Estate within walking distance (dependant on the time of year and walking route) these are: Fox and Hounds in Carthorpe and the Black Horse in Kirklington, please note they are both closed Mondays.
We do not provide towels in any accommodation these can be added onto your booking two weeks prior to your visit. Bedding is only included in Hill Farm Geodomes, Chestnut Hill Geodomes and Chestnut Lodge, guests will need own bedding/sleeping bags for all other accommodation. We offer the hire of Bedding and Towels at an additional cost of £10pp for bedding and £5pp for Towels which can be booked during online booking process or two weeks prior to your stay.
No they don't, the Safari Tents, Geodomes, Forest Retreat, Bears Place Lodge and Chestnut Lodge have their own cooking facilities all other accommodation has access to the Communal Kitchen Hub which has gas cookers, hot running water, plenty of pots, pans, crockery, cutlery.
No they do not, only the Safari Tents, Geodomes, Forest Retreat, Bears Place Lodge and Chestnut Lodge have own private flushing toilet and hot shower facilities. All other accommodation has the use of the central communal toilet and shower block which have flushing toilets and hot showers.
No we do not, any Persons under the age of 18 have to be accompanied by an adult who is 18 years or older.
We do not allow Hen and Stag parties, we do allow group bookings please discuss with a member of the team prior. There is a group booking form to sign and a holding deposit.
Only Children under the age of 3 years are free, over 3s are child price and over 10 is classed as a full price adult. Please note of our accommodations are a set price regardless and you can add a travel cot onto your booking FOC on the additional extras of the booking page.
Chestnut Hill Luxury Geodomes, Chestnut Lodge, Forest Retreat and Bears Place Lodge all have their own hot tub. Please note both Bears Place Lodge and Chestnut Lodge have wood burning hot tubs so take 4 hours to heat, if you would like these lit for you please note it is an additional charge.
